Applications are open until January 31, 2024. Classes will be held through February and March.
The current 2024 program will focus on two classes:
Grip/Electric and Set Construction.
Both classes will occur at roughly the same time and will utilize each other to complete the program where Set Construction will build a set that will be lit by Grip/Electric.

The Central Illinois Film & TV Production Training course is a free 8-week intensive course that prepares individuals interested in production to be able to get hired and work on active film and television productions in Illinois.
Presented by Shatterglass Studios and the Illinois Film and TV Workforce Development Program from the Illinois Film Office and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, this course utilizes the experience of instructors from every facet of production with over 20 years of experience in the industry.
If you have ever been interested in making movies or television this is your chance to get a hands-on training experience that will put you directly into the Illinois Production workforce that currently employs hundreds of artists and workers every day on major, national sets producing content for the biggest studios and streamers in the world.
*Must be 18 years old and live in Illinois to apply
Students from the 2022 Workforce Training program get a briefing from Director John Pata as they begin work on a real movie set for the program’s first Production Day.

That’s right! Thanks to a grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, we are able to offer this course completely free of charge. Requirements are only attendance, internet availability (intro classes are conducted over Zoom) and transportation for the hands-on training.
Open spots are limited, however, so an application review process will determine entry into the program. You can view the application and submit at the link below. Questions are essay-based so bring your passion!
